2017 UIL Results

Two dozen members of the Eagle Academic Squad competed yesterday at the district meet in Reagan County.

Congratulations to Hunter Redman and Timothy Chambliss, who will advance to Regionals. Redman was 3rd in current events, while Chambliss earned bronze in Math. Chambliss also placed 5th in Science.

Other Eagles who brought home academic glory include Adrian Campos and Sergio Ceballos, who finished 4th and 5th in calculator; Sabrina Rankin, who placed 4th in Social Studies and journalists Trey Phillips and Lexi Briley, who won 4th and 5th in Editorial Writing, while Harley Beason was 6th in Headline Writing. Alondra Herrera was 6th in Computer Applications, and Ryann Murray placed 6th in Lincoln-Douglas Debate.

Three Grape Creek teams had an especially good day and finished 2nd in their competitions. Congratulations to the Calculator Team of Campos, Ceballos, Chambliss and Travis Shelton; and to the Science Team of Ceballos, Chambliss, Brendan Bright, Cody Cox, Zack Mann and Liz Reyes. Individually, Bright and Reyes finished 7th and 9th in Science as well. 

Congrats also to the Social Studies team of Sabrina Rankin, Brendan Bright, Haven Escamilla and Emily Medrano.

Good job, Academic Eagles and good luck to the ones who will compete at Regionals!
